First voyage documents the Sea Breeze (Bark) of New Bedford, mastered by James Hamilton, kept by Josiah Foster, from 18 October 1865-29 November 1868 to the Sea of Okhotsk and North Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Includes descriptions of whales seen or taken, accidents and death at sea, and punishment on ship; and accounts and inventories of whale oil and bone. Second voyage documents the Abbie Bradford (Schooner) of New Bedford, mastered by William H. Murphy, from 6 May 1880-6 September 1881 to the Hudson Bay and Davis Strait. Whaling and sea elephant voyage to S. Georgia. Includes accounts/sale of schooner Whyland. Both voyages were conducted on behalf of owner/agent Jonathan Bourne.
